What does “Ready to Burn” mean?
All our kiln-dried firewood is certified under the UK government-backed Ready to Burn scheme. This means the logs contain less than 20% moisture and are approved for legal burning in homes across England, Wales, and Scotland. Learn more on our certifications & sustainability page.
Are your briquettes FSC® certified?
Yes – all our wood briquettes are made from responsibly sourced wood and carry the FSC® certification. This ensures sustainable forestry and traceability across the entire supply chain. Learn more about FSC® at fsc.org.
Are your pellets ENplus® A1 certified?
Absolutely. We only sell ENplus® A1-certified wood pellets, which meet the highest standards in Europe for heating quality and environmental performance. They ensure high calorific value, low ash content, and clean burning. Visit enplus-pellets.eu for full certification details.
What type of wood is best for my stove or fireplace?
If you’re using a modern wood-burning stove or fireplace, we recommend choosing hardwood logs like oak, ash, or beech – or try our high-performance compressed wood briquettes. These burn hotter, cleaner, and longer, making them ideal for efficient home heating in the UK.
When will I receive my order?
We dispatch most orders within 24 hours, and delivery typically takes 2–4 working days across the UK. You’ll receive a tracking link once your pallet is on its way. For full details, visit our delivery & returns page.
Do you deliver to Scotland, Northern Ireland or remote areas?
Yes – we deliver nationwide, including Scotland, Wales, and most remote areas. However, delivery to the Scottish Highlands, islands, and Northern Ireland may take longer or include a surcharge. Our delivery zone map explains regional charges for pallet firewood delivery in the UK.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
No – in most cases, you don’t need to be home. Our logistics partners like Palletforce offer kerbside pallet delivery using a tail-lift vehicle. If you provide clear instructions at checkout, drivers can usually leave the pallet in a safe location. For guaranteed placement, we recommend being present.
How is the firewood delivered?
Your bulk firewood, briquettes, or pellets are delivered neatly packed on a standard pallet. All pallets are shrink-wrapped and offloaded to ground level with a tail-lift. Please ensure that access is flat, hard, and truck-friendly. For delivery FAQs, see our delivery policy.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major UK payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and secure bank transfers. All payments are processed through SSL-secured checkout for your protection when ordering firewood and fuel products online.
Can I get a VAT invoice?
Yes – a full VAT invoice is automatically emailed to you after checkout. If you need a company invoice or a copy sent manually, please contact us at hello@firewoodshed.co.uk.
Do you offer payment in instalments?
What if my firewood arrives damaged or wet?
We inspect and moisture-test all firewood and briquettes before dispatch. However, if your order arrives damaged or the wood is wet, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We’ll arrange a replacement or refund in line with our returns policy. Be sure to include photos when possible.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Yes – if your order hasn’t been dispatched, you can cancel or amend it at no cost. Once your firewood or fuel pallet has been handed over to our delivery partner, cancellation fees may apply. Please get in touch as soon as possible if you need to make changes.
Are your fuels sourced responsibly?
Yes – all of our logs, briquettes, and pellets are sourced from verified producers who meet strict sustainability and quality standards. We only work with suppliers who are FSC®-certified, ENplus® A1-approved, or registered under the UK’s Ready to Burn scheme.
What is FSC® and why does it matter?
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) ensures that wood products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits. Choosing FSC-certified briquettes helps you support sustainable forestry. Learn more at fsc.org.
What does ENplus® A1 mean?
ENplus® A1 is the highest European certification for premium wood pellets. It guarantees high heat output, low ash content, and clean, consistent combustion. All our wood pellets are ENplus® A1-certified and suitable for domestic heating appliances in the UK. Visit enplus-pellets.eu for more info.
